Scholarship Program

We at EAB believe that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and dependence. Since our inception in 2001, our Scholarship Program has been acting on this belief, providing for the education of students from the marginalized communities of Batey Libertad and Franco Bidó. Beginning in primary school, students are given the material resources and support necessary to overcome the many obstacles to their education. Our goal is that each student will complete not only high school, but university or a technical degree as well. As they proceed in their education, students stay involved in EAB projects and other service to their communities. Over time, a new class of professionals will emerge to enact solutions to the problems facing their families and communities. Each student is encouraged to pursue his or her particular dream.

Much of this support has been made possible through Educational Partnerships,
which match an individual, family, or group in the US with a deserving
Dominican student in need, providing funding for the student’s
education while building a relationship with the student and her/his
family. US partners exchange letters and photos with the student, and
will receive periodic updates about school progress. If you are
interested in forming such a relationship, please contact us.
